Aakriti Studio Nepal photographs maternity sessions, baby showers, and pasni (rice-feeding / annaprashan) ceremonies across Kathmandu and Lalitpur, starting from NPR 8,000. Sessions are shot at a calm, family-led pace, either in-studio, at home, or on location.

Family milestones call for a different pace than a wedding, and Aakriti Studio Nepal shoots them differently — calmer, quieter, and built around the family's schedule rather than a strict shot list. A maternity session celebrates a pregnancy at whatever stage feels right for the parents, most commonly the seventh or eighth month. A baby shower brings friends and extended family together, and a pasni ceremony marks a baby's first taste of solid food, a ritual with its own specific customs and timing that we've photographed for 18 years across Nepali families in Kathmandu and Lalitpur.Pasni ceremonies in particular move on the ritual's own schedule, not a photographer's — we work around the priest and family's pace rather than the other way around, staying ready to capture the key moment as it happens rather than asking anyone to wait for the camera. Babies don't perform on command, so our approach leans candid: we let the day unfold and stay positioned to catch the real reactions, from grandparents' expressions to a baby's first confused bite of rice.Sessions can be held in a studio setting, at the family home, or at an outdoor location, and typically run 1 to 2 hours. Extended family and even pets are welcome to be part of the session. Combined packages covering both a maternity shoot and a later newborn session are also available.
